Job Summary

This position is subject to the requirements of the Arms, Ammunition and Explosives Personnel Program (AA&EPP). As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, interview, records review, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by Army Regulations (AR 190-11).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / TASKS

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

  • May be required to work overtime or varying hours AECOM.

  • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

  • Work in close proximity to and or in an environment where conventional munitions are located.

  • Provide local network management which includes Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, IP subnetting and routing for the local area network, VLANs on Cisco switches and VLAN trunking between switches. Manage copper and fiber cabling to include installation and termination of CAT5 and Single Mode Fiber. Cisco ASA firewalls to separate external, internal and process networks, network attached system such as copiers, scanners and printers.

  • Provide Information Security management to a level that satisfies the government standards for protecting both information and resources. This includes managing a patch management strategy to keep system vulnerabilities to a minimum, managing the security of the system with a defense in depth approach. Keeping different systems separate except through approved gateways that only allow needed traffic.

  • Provide server management to include managing Hyper-V servers hosting VMs that include Microsoft Server 2008, Microsoft Server 2012, Windows 7 and Red Hat Enterprise with local attached storage. Manage file, print, web and database servers for the SDC project. Manage the application databases that run SQL 2008. Provide disaster recovery management through the use of data protection manager. Replace server hardware when needed.

  • Provide computer desktop management to include managing workstations with Windows 7 Enterprise on an Active Directory Domain. Load operating systems and application software. Support use of installed applications such as Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook), Visio, AutoCAD and Adobe Professional. Replace computer hardware as needed. Support computer peripheral such as card readers, scanners and local printers.

  • Provide application and programming support for custom applications designed for the demilitarization process. These applications include systems programmed in ASP.NET and Microsoft Access with web front ends and database back ends.

  • Research and implement new technology into the existing system to keep the SDC current with the industry including implementation of virtualized servers for the process control system, implementing SharePoint to manage information and work flows, moving manual process to automated process.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for users are the SDC including account issues, access to electronic resources, use of email and other issues user may encounter while using computer systems.

Minimum Requirements

REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Information or Information Technology and 10 years related experience

Or

  • Associate degree in Computer Information or Information Technology and 14 years related experience

Or

  • High school diploma/equivalent and 18 years related experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain site access.

  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.

  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Active Directory

  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in troubleshooting, set-up and repair of computer hardware, peripheral components, and operating systems software

  • Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve networking issues

  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in understanding applications of Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office and other software and hardware programs

  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Server 2008 and 2012 R2.

  • Experience with maintaining backup systems such as tape drives

  • Knowledge and experience in installing and configuring network printing, directory structures, rights, security and software on file servers

  • Experience in answering customer inquiries in person and via telephone concerning systems operation and issues concerning their access of resources on the network

  • As the sole AECOM IT representative on the project, must be able to work independently and make decisions that will positively impact the AECOM IT users and their ability to connect to the network

Preferred Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology

  • Experience with the design and maintenance of Sharepoint sites

  • Experience in advising management on new technologies and systems requirements
