Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the EAGLE contract for a Courier . The Courier is responsible for escorting or hand carrying cargo up to 60 pounds, validating, and processing all shipping documentation.Provides movement control support for surface and air movement of cargo through the U.S. Military Transportation System.Identifies and troubleshoots problem areas in movement and recommends solutions to management. Works closely with customers to ensure desired movement objectives, priorities, and schedules are met and communicated to management.Prepares, compiles, and submits reports on work activities, operations, and production. Confers with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to exchange information and resolve problems.May be required to perform seaport, airport, A/DACG, HTD, HAZMAT and other movement control functions. Accountable for all government and company property that is required, received, stored and used.Handles high volume of containers, cargo and equipment daily. Performs disposal of unserviceable equipment and supplies not economically repairable.

Conducts classification of miscellaneous equipment and vehicles using the appropriate forms (DA Form 461-5 and DA Form 2404)

Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.

Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Secret / Tier 3

  • Valid Driver’s license required.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3 years of Movement Transportation Control and Coordination experience required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa. Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Must have knowledge of movement request through the proper Port of Embarkation (POE) and Port of Debarkation (POD) to ensure the proper abbreviated MIL codes are used.

  • Ability to make adjustments in procedures and operations to accomplish work effectively and efficiently.

  • Must be familiar with Army Information Management Systems for Movement.

  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees. Position Title

  • Valid driver’s license is required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral English.

  • Ability to prioritize work.

  • Requires a collaborative work style that fosters cooperation and teamwork.

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 77 hour work week.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. continuously, 50 intermittently.

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.

  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred.

  • US Army 88M preferred.
