Job Summary

.AECOM has an exciting opportunity on the EAGLE contract in Afghanistan for a Supervisor-Business Services . The Supervisor directs and leads subordinates on the day-to-day operations and ensures daily assignments are carried out in a responsive timely manner. Supports Business Management Manager as required for liaison with corporate office. Coordinates organizational decisions with Business Management Manager and makes recommendations about specific matters related to payroll processing, financial support to employees and cash management. Develops and implements standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training plans.Coordinates with other Assistant Project Managers within AC FIRST pertaining to their finance-related activities, processes, and requirements. Responsible for monitoring cash-on-hand in order to ensure that requirements of Imprest Fund can be met.Responsible for monitoring Cash Management Office operations (Imprest Fund) to ensure proper control and accountability of cash. Responsible for monitoring the payroll process to ensure that timesheets are collected, reviewed and processed timely and accurately. Responsible for supervision functions, to include training, professional development and quality control of their work. Responsible for reporting related to, financial support to employees and cash management. Performs as the Acting Business Management Manager in their absence. Supports Business Management Manager during interface with US Government representatives, such as Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Expeditionary Contracting Command – Afghanistan (ECC-A), as required. Such interface may be related to classified FRAGOs or other sensitive or classified documents. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures.Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Secret / Tier 3a) Valid driver’s license required.

  • must be Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certified or obtained within 90 days after arrival in country

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related curriculum is required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

  • 5 years experience in accounting, finance, records management or similar discipline is required

  • Must have knowledge of cash control and protection of cash procedures.

  • Must have knowledge and experience working with DCAA and/or ECC-A and/or internal/external financial auditors.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of payroll functions.

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), are required.

  • Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.

  • Must have high-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.

  • Must be detail oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a task.

  • Must have the English language speaking ability to speak the language with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations on practical, social, and professional topics. Must be able to read standard newspaper items addressed to the general reader, routine correspondence, reports, and technical materials in the individual's special field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 – 3 years supervisory experience preferred
