Job Description
The BIM Modeller - Water is a critical role within our organisation, responsible for executing complex modelling tasks in water engineering projects. This position demands a high level of expertise in Autodesk Revit Software (Buildings) and Autodesk Civil 3D (Civils), or equivalent platforms, with the ability to create sophisticated content within a specific discipline.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain detailed 3D models of water infrastructure projects with utmost precision and adherence to industry standards.
Utilise advanced features of Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D to create complex parametric families and dynamic components.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate integration of water engineering principles into BIM models.
Conduct quality assurance checks on models to guarantee compliance with project specifications and UK water industry regulations.
Analyse and resolve intricate modelling issues, demonstrating a high level of problem-solving skills.
Contribute to the development and implementation of BIM standards and best practices within the organisation.
Provide technical guidance to junior team members on advanced modelling techniques and software utilisation.
Participate in client meetings to present modelling solutions and address technical queries.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in BIM technology and water engineering practices, continuously enhancing professional expertise.
Ensure strict adherence to project timelines and deliverables, maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy in all work produced.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years' experience with modelling software, preferably in a water engineering environment
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
Proficient in Autodesk Revit Software (Buildings) and Autodesk Civil 3D (Civils)
Strong knowledge of water engineering principles and practices
Experience with water infrastructure design and modelling
Familiarity with GIS software and applications
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate models
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of UK water industry standards and regulations
BIM Level 2 certification is desirable
Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM) is advantageous
Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial
