AECOM High Voltage Electrician in Bethesda, Maryland

The High Voltage Electrician will inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all high voltage 15KV and 480V utility systems, equipment, motors, MCC panels, generators, transformers, switchgears, substations, distribution systems.
Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs; as well as installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done on electrical utility systems, both high and low voltages: including, but not limited to, distribution systems, 125VDC systems, and UPS systems, as assigned.
Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair power delivery and distribution equipment and electrical circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments.
Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, and replace all power equipment, transformers, switchgear, MCC, control panels, motors and various other electrical apparatus.
Assist and perform switching on electrical utility systems, placing blocking, grounds, locks, etc., on utility systems (15KV and 480V), as required by operational switching procedures.
Work on service lines for the isolation or grounding of circuits, maintenance, and troubleshooting demands to maintain operation.
Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical utility equipment for maintenance programs based on all information obtained through tests and preventative maintenance procedures. Take corrective action, as necessary.
Perform safety inspections during facility additions or repairs to insure safe and continuous operation of electrical utilities systems and equipment, as required.
Test, calibrate, and maintain protective devices on electrical utility system and equipment and keep prints up to date on 15KV distribution feeders.
Perform other assigned works directed by management.
Observe all safety, practices, directives, and use proper PPE as required.
Journeyman Electrician license.
Eight years experience in the electrical trade in maintenance and/or construction required.
Possess a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry maintenance.
Possess a strong background in low voltage switchgear maintenance and repair.
Must be thoroughly familiar with electrical test equipment.
Understand usage and various functions of digital multi-meter, Simpson analog voltmeter, variable power supplies.
Demonstrate ability to read, decode, troubleshoot simple to complex start/stop motor control circuitry.
Possess proficiency in AC/DC fundamentals and power transformation, conversion of 480V and below.
Two years experience in work related to 15,000 VAC or above.
Must be able to physically lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb, crawl, bend, and/or sit in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions
Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
A willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Possess knowledge of current NEC regulations.
Must have valid Driver’s license.
High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance with polygraph credentials.
Master electrician license.
Ability to write correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
