Job Description
Job requirements:
4-5 years experience as a project accountant/ financial analyst/ revenue recognition accountant, preferably in a multinational
Demonstrable experience operating in a complex, fast paced, international business environment.
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills essential
Ability to manage details but also understand the “big picture”.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility to work on a late shift (3PM to 11PM)
Identifies and executes initiatives and continuous improvements.
Extensive operations interface and collaboration
Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
Preferred qualifications
- A formal qualification (AAT, part qualification CIMA/ACCA, Accounting/Business degree) could be an advantage but is not a requirement
Primary purpose of the Position
Responsible for the finances of projects categorized in the C0 to C2 risk category bracket.
Building and managing relationships with the operations teams to help drive understanding of project financial performance and the management of commercial and financial risks.
Understanding of contracts and how revenue recognition is impacted will be key in this position as well as providing financial support at bid, set-up, execution, and close out phases of the project lifecycle.
Monthly accounting cycle responsibilities ensuring that AECOM’s monthly accounts are closed out in a timely manner and in accordance with revenue recognition policies.
Key responsibilities:
Business Partnering with Project Managers, Project Delivery Teams and Senior Operations Management.
Participate in project review preparation, execution and follow up.
Project Commercial & Bid Support.
Monitor project performance and key indicators.
Support Business as required in understanding project performance.
Monitor and analyze revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition methods used.
Understand the commercial and billing requirements of projects, including complex issues.
Assist in providing guidance to Ops teams on the requirements for DoA approvals where business is operating at risk.
Month end close, including project revenue adjustments, WIP and loss provision analysis.
Ensure consistent application of accounting standards across all projects in portfolio and support Ops teams in understanding of documentation requirements to support revenue recognition principles and SOX compliance.
Internal and external audit support as and when required.
