Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Specialist.

This position requires a strong understanding of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) engineering design, equipment, process design, and commissioning processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Develop task and deliverable list with associated hours estimate and schedule to support business development activities

  • Support projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning

  • Responsible for the instrumentation and controls engineering design work on assigned projects; Function as the “Engineer of Record” on projects

  • Collaborate with multi-discipline technical leads to integrate instrumentation and controls across the full spectrum of projects and client solutions

  • Perform engineering calculations to support and direct construction deliverables (specifications, reports, drawings)

  • Generate construction and equipment specifications

  • Provide quality control reviews of work developed by others

  • Monitor your teams project progress to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects

  • Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of the design work

  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule a to meet requirements on large, complex projects

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited university

  • A minimum of 6+ years of relevant engineering experience within industrial and/or power facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge in the design and specification for field devices (meters, temperature, pressure, flow, and analytical instrumentation and control valves)

  • Proficiency with control systems including PLC or DCS based systems including automation and programming

  • Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.

  • Demonstrated experience in participating complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and teams

  • Successful experience working in remote and multi-discipline teams

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,000.00 - $185,000.00.
