Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer to join our Water Team based in the Burnaby, BC office. The candidate for this position will work on civil infrastructure, pumping station, drinking water and wastewater treatment projects and related infrastructure including planning and feasibility to design, construction, and commissioning.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Work successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other project team members and customers
Support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal water, and wastewater sectors
Complete technical calculations to support design decisions
Develop engineering plans, design drawings, and technical specifications
Assist with the preparation of technical reports
Provide construction administration and construction field services
Review and approve construction progress in the field
Coordinate the work of discipline engineers
Pursue and deliver new water/wastewater projects with private and municipal clients
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process)
Registered as a P.Eng. in the province of BC (or eligible within 6 months)
4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in the municipal water/wastewater industry
Experience must include familiarity with industry standards and strong working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment design and engineering
Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license
Willing to travel to and visit active construction sites, providing field review services
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the consulting industry
Good working knowledge of industry standard and local municipal standards and guidelines are considered an asset
Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint
Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
Motivated, team player, independent, organized with strong business acumen
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to write winning proposals and obtain new work
Additional Information
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00.
