Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Sr. Project Controls Manager to work out of our Burnaby, BC office.
As an industry leader in program management and construction management for large capital programs, AECOM oversees activities ranging from planning, coordination, scheduling and cost control, to design, construction and commissioning. From concept through completion, we provide necessary technical and administrative services to help our clients meet their program objectives. We act as an extension of our clients’ staff, protecting their interests as our own.
Major Responsibilities for Sr. Project Controls Manager are as follows:
Develops commercial strategies. Capable of participating in negotiations.
Documents employee performance issues and plays an instrumental role in resolution as appropriate.
Assumes mentoring and training roles as requested and identifies high potential employees to management.
Conducts root cause analysis.
Drafts comprehensive project procedures.
Utilizes extensive knowledge of construction contracting including the way contract type affects implementation of project controls systems.
Reviews performance trends, prepares analysis and cost impact and monthly project performance reports, and recommends contractor invoices for approval.
Evaluates manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.
Oversees the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules. Expert understanding of schedule resource loading and leveling.
Assists the Project Manager in budgeting and managing incentive programs.
Holds an expert understanding of schedule, critical path analysis, resource loading and leveling.
Establishes and maintains client relationships.
Reviews and analyzes project program and oversee the production of accurate progress/performance reports.
Review and assesses (as required) raw data that comes from project automated systems.
Serves as a key participant in client and/or subcontractor negotiations
Participates in staffing decisions for projects.
Ensures that a tracking database is developed and maintained to cross check subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures.
Involved in tracking system to ensure that Project Management team is fully aware of detailed change order status.
Able to effectively lead the project controls function on a medium to large project.
Controls scope and change management.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS Degree in Finance, Business, Eng + 10 Years in Project Controls including 2 years of leadership or demonstrated equivalency of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have led large Project Control Teams and Projects over $30M CAD is a strong asset
Ideally 15 years of experience in Project Controls
Post graduate studies in Project Management / Construction Management field a plus
Possess advanced working knowledge of Cost and Earned Value Software (e.g. Prism, Unifier, InEight) is a strong asset
Studies in Project Management/Construction Management field is a plus
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $190,000.00.
