Job Description

AECOM is searching for a Civil Engineering to be based in our Calgary, AB office.

The appropriately qualified candidate will have knowledge and experience in civil engineering, civil technology, and construction management principles and be familiar with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. They will have a high level of initiative, and motivation, and display drive, energy, and enthusiasm for getting things done. They will be expected to support the delivery of infrastructure projects to customers mostly within the municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater sectors.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist Senior Engineer with the design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilities.

  • Perform construction inspections,

  • Perform construction contract administration.

  • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.

  • Prepare construction cost estimates.

  • Assist in the preparation of project specifications and contract documents.

  • Additional responsibilities will include assistance with proposal preparation; contract preparation and negotiation and coordination with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

  • 2 years of related experience with civil engineering, design, construction inspection, and contract administration.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater conveyance and pumping infrastructure.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.

  • Registered as EIT (or ability to do so within 6 months)

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients.

  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Experience in the condition assessment of municipal infrastructure is a benefit.

  • Experience in proposal writing and job scoping is a benefit.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $62,000.00 - $95,000.00.
