AECOM Drafter I in Carlsbad, New Mexico

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a
Drafter I to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.
Drafter responsibilities include incorporating design modification and planned facility upgrades into engineering drawings based on Cognizant Engineer (CE) direction using the engineering change order (ECO) process. Drawings are used to communicate configuration management of the WIPP site where the design requirements, facility documentation, and physical configuration of the plant all aligned.
Primary drafting work includes using ECOs to create or modify the following types of facility drawings: electrical, mechanical, loop diagrams, interconnect diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, architectural drawings, and civil layouts. Creation of figure/illustrations for documents such as the DSA, SDDs, and map generation will be required. Review and verification of design drawing updates and other technical documentation prepared by others for accuracy in accordance with standard drafting practices, and applicable change notices. In addition, position will require support of new major capital projects (Permanent Ventilation System, Fire Pump House and Distribution Loop, Unfiltered Exhaust Shaft, etc.) drawing conversions.
This is a bargaining unit position.
High School Diploma or GED
One (1) year training with computer aided drafting software (e.g., ACAD)
One (1) year of experience.
Use of standard drafting techniques per ASME Y-14 and profiecient with ACAD and associated drawing software packages.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.
Understanding of weld symbols, tolerances, and other analysis related to updating general plant arrangement/layout and design drawings a plus.
One year nuclear operations experience preferred.
