Job Summary

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a

Scientist to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.

The successful candidate will support WIPP Laboratories by performing Scientific analyses of various types of samples and assist the laboratory manager in day-to-day operation of the lab. Plan, coordinate, and execute broad range of scientific and technological activities provided broad objectives and little direction. Apply advanced scientific principles, concepts, theories, and techniques. Assume lead role on various technological projects, as assigned. Coordinate scientific and technical activities with other Project participants, vendors, or consultants. Direct technical preparation of reports and similar documentation. Direct scientific projects from conception through implementation and conclusion. Develop, modify, and follow schedules, budgets, and costs applying broad knowledge of computer-based cost and schedule systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, or a science related field and nine (9) years of related laboratory experience is required.

  • Due to the nature of work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer experience in radioanalytical separation of actinide and strontium as well as gamma analyses.

  • Experience with instrumental analyses using alpha, beta, gamma and liquid scintillation equipment is desired.

  • Extensive experience in radiochemistry and related instrumental analyses is preferred.

  • Experience with validation and verification of results and data packages is a plus.
