Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an individual for
Underground Facility Operations to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.
Follow all safety procedures, regulations and policies. Conduct frequent inspections of work area to assure that safe working conditions are maintained. Promptly report any hazards or unsafe conditions to management. Operate and monitor equipment and systems in accordance with established procedures. Assist higher classified facility personnel with operation, testing and maintenance of underground equipment and systems, as assigned in accordance with established procedures. Perform routine functions, such as tagout/lockout, log keeping, monitoring and housekeeping in accordance with Conduct of Operations procedures. Perform technical reviews/validations of procedures as assigned. Obtain materials and supplies from warehouse/storage as required. Report all issues or concerns related to integration of facility activities/readiness, environment, or quality to management. Conduct frequent inspections of assigned work areas to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Promptly report any hazards or unsafe conditions to management. Implement standards contained in NWP "Code of Business Ethics and Conduct''. Obtain and maintain respiratory protection qualification. Obtain and maintain Rad II qualification and work within contamination areas.
This is a bargaining unit position and the assigned position will be in the WIPP underground. .
High School Diploma or GED.
One (1) year of plant or facility operating experience is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain respiratory qualifications.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.
Two (2) years of underground mining experience is preferred.
40 hr. MSHA Certification preferred.
