Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our team in McLean, VA!

The Senior Security Engineer will monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and protect the systems and databases from unauthorized users. These systems will include both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) systems.


  • Perform periodic Threat Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (TVRA) activities on operational systems including energy management, heating/cooling, and power management systems

  • Maintain hardware/software inventories of internal and external (vendor-supported) systems to ensure compliance with existing policies

  • Conduct cyber security awareness training for on-site staff, including periodic “lunch and learn” sessions

  • Work with third-party suppliers to support security and compliance of identified systems

  • Plan and perform security remediation on existing systems that may be outdated or end-of-life including system upgrades and migrations

  • Establish new security monitoring platform to monitoring systems for compliance, detect abnormalities, facilitate response, and assist in forensics to security violations

  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Maintain UNCLASSIFIED Intranet in support of program operations.

Maintain equipment inventory/compliance assurance of internal and external (vendor) software and hardware used in support of the this program.


Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of Information Security experience or 15 years in Information Security Engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

  • CISSP required. Will consider candidates with CISM or Security+.

Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

  • GICSP or CSSA preferred.

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.

  • Experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred.
