Job Description

AECOM Hunt has an exciting Safety Manager opportunity for our ongoing project in Chicago, IL.

  • Under minimal direction supervises personnel engaged in the ES&H functions within the company or on the same project.

  • Implements policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with ES&H requirements of the organization.

  • Supervises personnel engaged in monitoring and preventing hazards and diseases that could be present throughout the work sites.

  • Provides technical leadership and functional guidance to ensure regulatory standards are being enforced.

  • Ensures that quality control procedures are executed to monitor all aspects of regulations.

  • Acts in a liaison capacity with the resident contract agency representative and other various agencies engaged in promoting environmental safety and health activities.

  • Drafts all necessary reports to Federal, State and local agencies.

  • Coordinates audits of ES&H programs within the organization.

  • Keeps informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations. Assists in the development and conducts basic ES&H training to employees.

  • Communicates programs to enhance employee awareness of prevention and compliance.

  • May administer an ES&H program on a large, specialized, complex project or multiple projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • BA/BS Occupational Safety or relevant curriculum and 8 years of construction safety experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements:

  • CSP certification a plus

  • 8+ years of construction safety, health and/or environmental experience.

  • Prior experience on large infrastructure construction projects.

  • Airport construction safety preferred

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client's security screening process, which will include, but may not be limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment, and your participation in that process and a pass rating by the client are both conditions of your continued employment by AECOM.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,004.00 - $203,508.00.
