Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Developer Intern to be based in Denver, CO .
This position is expected to begin in Summer 2025.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assist in Coding and Development : Write, test, and debug code, particularly for Cityworks-related integration projects.
Cityworks Configuration: Configure Cityworks software for client-oriented Cityworks implementation projects
Cityworks Integration : Work on integrating Cityworks with other systems and applications.
GIS Data Management : Handle GIS data within Cityworks, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Collaborate with Team Members : Work closely with other developers, GIS specialists, and project managers to understand project requirements and deliverables.
Participate in Code Reviews : Review code written by peers and provide constructive feedback.
Document Code and Processes : Maintain clear and concise documentation for code and development processes, with a focus on Cityworks integration.
Troubleshoot and Debug : Identify and fix bugs in codebases.
Support Testing and Deployment : Assist in the testing and deployment of Cityworks applications and updates.
Attend Meetings and Training Sessions : Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge, particularly in Cityworks.
Contribute to Project Planning : Provide input during project planning and estimation phases, especially for Cityworks projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, GIS, or a related field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Educational Background : Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, GIS, or a related field.
Cityworks Experience : Hands-on experience with Cityworks software, including configuration, customization, and integration.
GIS Proficiency : Strong understanding of GIS concepts and experience with Esri’s ArcGIS platform.
Programming Skills : Proficiency in full-stack development, including experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or similar. Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs using technologies like Node.js or ASP.NET Core, as well as working with back-end data storage solutions such as SQL and NoSQL.
Database Knowledge : Familiarity with SQL and database management systems.
Problem-Solving Abilities : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in troubleshooting Cityworks and GIS-related issues.
Version Control : Experience with version control systems like Git.
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling GIS data and coding tasks.
Team Collaboration : Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute to collective goals.
Adaptability : Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.
Project Management : Basic understanding of project management principles and practices.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $16.00/hour - $23.00/hour.
