Job Description

Role Summary

  • Monitoring of onsite/off site laboratory set-up, organization, maintenance and operation.

  • Supervise sampling, testing, record keeping, and reporting in accordance with

  • Project Plans and Specification

  • Client’s Policy and Procedures & Directives

  • Materials Testing Manual

  • AASHTO, ASTM and BS Standard Methods of Sampling and Testing and Construction Supervision Directives.

  • Sampling Guide and Certifications Manual

  • Ensure that established practices, procedures and quality standards are maintained and followed by performing regular checks on the progress and quality of work.

Responsibilities

  • Review/Comment on Contractors Project Quality Plan and attached Method Statements and Inspection and Test Plans.

  • Review Contractor submittals (method statement, material, test results, test reports).

  • Coordinate with the General Engineering Consultants (GECs) on work priorities and schedules.

  • Periodically supervise sampling and testing and carry out random checks of material delivered to the project for conformance with the Approved source or supplier. Maintain neat accurate records.

  • Assist the GECs on technical issues.

  • Perform statistical analysis on the test results and report to the Quality specialist.

  • Periodically witness material sampling and testing and report to the Quality Manager.

  • Coordinate with the GECs to be aware of inspection and testing proposals and discuss any areas of concern.

  • Provide QA/QC technical advice and guidance to ensure that critical or urgent situations are quickly addressed.

  • Monitor Planned, coordinated and managed material procurement.

  • Mentor Staff

  • Supervise work in progress at site, including quality control inspections.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Relationships

  • The Senior Materials Engineer is part of the quality team and will collaboratively work with all parties including the PWA, ANAS, and GECs to assist in the successful delivery of projects.

  • Develop relations with all parties and provide functional support were required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 20+ Years Experience.

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field.
