Job Description
Job Summary
At AECOM Middle East, we are offering an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and motivated Associate to join our dynamic pre-contract team. This role is designed for a driven individual who is MRICS and eager to thrive in a collaborative environment while developing the skills and experience necessary to become a future leader in the industry. You will be working on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, with exposure to a variety of asset types, procurement models, and major high-profile clients across the UAE.
As part of our highly regarded pre-contract team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive cost consultancy services, from initial feasibility studies through to contract award. You will be responsible for leading and managing projects across the UAE, ensuring the seamless integration of cost management solutions that meet both client objectives and the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead and manage pre-contract cost consultancy services on a diverse range of projects across the UAE, from early-stage feasibility assessments to final contract award.
Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring a client-focused approach throughout the project lifecycle. You will act as the main point of contact, liaising with major clients in the region to understand and meet their unique project needs.
Work Planning & Coordination: Take responsibility for planning and prioritising work in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring that tasks are completed within the required timeframes. Where necessary, you will propose alternative strategies to mitigate challenges in meeting deadlines.
Team Management: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture. Oversee team activities, ensuring the efficient delivery of tasks while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Bidding & Business Development: Contribute to bidding processes and actively participate in project resourcing, ensuring that the appropriate personnel and resources are allocated to each project. You will also have an opportunity to support in the preparation of winning proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.
Project Financial Management: Monitor and manage project finances, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and reporting to maintain financial discipline and achieve optimal project outcomes.
What We Are Looking For:
A proven track record of successfully delivering pre-contract cost consultancy services, particularly in a client-facing role, from initial feasibility through to contract award.
Extensive knowledge of benchmarking and have a strong knowledge of markets rates.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing junior team members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
A proactive, solution-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in bidding, resourcing, and financial management of projects is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in this field
Must have a QS or Engineering or similar degree
Must have pre-contract experience within a consultancy
Must have extensive exposure to Cost Planning at all stages.
RICS membership.
Experience in operational aspects of a business is beneficial.
