Job Description

AECOM are currently seeking a Senior Associate - Electrical, to join our Rail Building Engineering team in Dubai. In this role, you will lead and contribute to the design of electrical systems for complex commercial and industrial projects, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with local and international standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee structural Building Services design engineering projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and quality of Building Services engineering processes.

  • Mentor and manage teams of engineers, fostering professional growth and collaboration.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment of project objectives.

  • Oversee the design, analysis, and review of complex structural systems for assigned projects.

  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory codes, safety standards, and project specifications.

  • Conduct design reviews, audits, and risk assessments to ensure the reliability and safety of designs.

  • Promote the adoption of advanced design tools, materials, and methodologies to improve outcomes.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in designs and project execution.

  • Allocate engineering resources efficiently to meet project demands.

  • Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

  • Ensure thorough documentation of designs, calculations, and project deliverables for compliance and future reference.

  • Incorporate sustainable design principles to minimize environmental impact and enhance energy efficiency.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, driving repeat business and referrals.

  • Contribute to proposals, technical presentations, and bids to secure new projects."

  • Lead digital delivery through system optimization, advanced simulations strategies, and multidisciplinary coordination through adoption of Revit tools/Revizto in ACC and BIM 360 environment.

  • Establish project and digital workflows by implementing design automation solutions that integrate computational engineering solutions within the BIM environment.

  • Involve in technical evaluation of Building Engineering systems appropriate for the project through technical and commercial evaluation, provide guidance and recommendation to Clients on proposed design solution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in electrical design with a focus on rail / metro or vertical transportation projects

  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, and SKM

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC and IEC

  • Experience with power distribution systems, lighting design, and control systems

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

  • Expertise in energy efficiency and sustainable design practices

  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality

  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines

  • Willingness to adapt to evolving project requirements and industry trends
