Job Description
AECOM is searching for an Engineer to be based in our Water group located in Edmonton, AB.
The appropriately qualified candidate will have an understanding and significant experience in civil engineering, civil technology and construction management principles and is very familiar with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. They will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. They will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal water, wastewater and storm water sector.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Working knowledge of water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment.
Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilities.
Perform constructability reviews.
Perform construction inspections.
Lead construction contract administration.
Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.
Prepare construction cost estimates.
Preparation of project specifications and contract documents.
Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; assistance with proposal preparation; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
Approves and signs off on work
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects
Manages projects, communicates with client
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) + 8 years of related experience with civil engineering, design, construction inspection, contract administration or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must have experience with municipal water, wastewater and/or storm water conveyance projects
Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Registered as P.Eng in the province of Alberta or eligible within 6months
Experience utilizing Project Management principles and tools.
Training and experience in project management
Strongly Preferred Qualifications :
10+ years of experience
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients.
Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Experience in proposal writing and job scoping is a benefit.
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $165,000.00.
