Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join our Florida Water Team. This position will be based out of our Fort Myers office and will include the opportunity to work on projects both locally and across the state. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of water, wastewater, and storm management projects under the guidance of senior engineers, designers, technical specialists, and project managers.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment, water quality improvement, and stormwater management projects for a variety of clients across Florida.

  • Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Prepare engineering analyses, reports and technical specifications, under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Work collaboratively within project teams to ensure project objectives are met within defined scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Collect and analyze data, perform field work, undertake site inspections under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Attend site visits and meetings in clients’ offices.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or a related field.

  • An academic focus on water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.

  • Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or a related field.

  • Experience in water and wastewater engineering, including design, construction, and/or operations

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other design software.

  • Familiarity with additional software tools, such as Power BI, hydraulic modelling programs, structural design packages

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure design and a willingness to travel and work in the field as needed

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $56,000.00 - $85,000.00.
