Job Description

AECOM seeks a Technology & Security Consultant based out of our Germantown MD office. The successful candidate will provide insight and advice concerning strategic direction and applicability of current, industry standard or innovative solutions based on in-depth understanding of the latest developments relevant to a specialized functional area. Responsible for providing high level vision to program/project manager or senior leadership to influence objectives of complex efforts. Provides guidance on the functional procedures/processes/policies reflecting detailed knowledge of functional areas. May lead in-depth research in support of studies and analyses.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with multiple technical disciplines, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of major project and scope milestones

  • Establish collaborative partnerships among stakeholders to manage scoping, financial and resource management, and alignment

  • Identify, document, and elevate cross-organizational and vendor-driven dependencies and work with managers and peers across organizations to develop and implement appropriate dependency management processes in a project cycle

  • Establish appropriate project governance structures and processes by engaging executive sponsors and key stakeholders to develop proper thresholds and decision-making process

  • Mentor and coach junior-level security designers in the fundamentals of security design principles and best practices

  • Provide financial project performance and forecasting reports to senior executives and project stakeholders

  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with project activities and work across the organization to establish and monitor mitigation strategies against identified risks and vulnerabilities

  • Identify, document, and spearhead evaluation of changes based on cost, schedule, risk, scope impacts, and cross-functional dependencies for required security mitigation strategies

  • Develop and maintain required project management artifacts following using Project Management standards and applicable regulations

  • Has a solid foundation of understanding or analysis of client business practices and goals; develops and formulates solutions to client problems on assigned projects.

  • Under limited supervision, responsible for the creation of work plans and task definitions.

  • Has broad technical knowledge but possesses an area of specialization or focus.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS plus ten (10) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified

  • LEED AP Certified

  • Experience in risk management, homeland security, and or infrastructure protection program

  • Experience with security technology and applications

  • Experience in value engineering of security systems design to meet budgetary requirements

  • Understanding of Physical and Electronic Security Measures and systems

  • Proficiency with software tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook

  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment with multi-tasking skills

  • Excellent communication skills

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $170,000.00.
