Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic, ambitious and highly motivated Associate Project Planners with solid knowledge of scheduling best practice and associated software.
We are looking for innovative thinkers who are keen to engage and “Make Complex look Simple”, and as such, get involved in the AI revolution of Project Controls.
You may be involved in supporting budget planning and management under the guidance of Associate Directors and will assist in tasks related to the Planning Team budget tracking, cost management, and ensuring that projects stay within budget constraints.
As part of the management team, you will actively engage to provide solutions for continuous improvement, whilst consistently seeking to add value for Internal and External Clients. In addition, you will be proficient in communicating effectively and pro-actively applying professionalism at all times. You will be able to apply logical thinking to solve problems and accomplish tasks and will have possess proficient writing skills in order to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
The role will work as part of our Integrated Program Controls Team (IPC), which is composed of Schedule, Risk, Project Controls and Analytics.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Develops a manageable WBS in accordance with the Scope of Works
Develops and maintains schedule narrative and Basis of Schedule documents for Best Practice
Is responsible to ensure that the schedule is Contract Compliant, and engages in Change Management
Establishes new working alliances and maintain and nurture working relationships.
Collaborates actively with all IPC functions and drives Integration
Leads collaborative planning workshops to ensure buy-in from overall project team
Refers to drawings and specifications for the establishment of project baseline data
Implements and leads progress and performance data and ensures accurate progress data is captured effectively
Familiar with Earned Value, scope control, change management and risk management (QSRA)
Performs impact analysis and monitors schedule variance.
Assists in assembling data for trending and forecasting (S curves)
Is able to conduct Schedule Quality checks and participate in Peer Reviews
Supporting budget planning and management under the guidance of Associate Directors
Assist in tasks related to the Planning Team budget tracking, cost management, and ensuring that projects stay within budget constraints
When required, will manage own team, provide support, coaching and mentoring to junior members of the overall IPC team
Will actively seek to attend network events, engage in Business Development activities such as Bid support, write up of marketing material etc
Will actively seek to grow and expand opportunities, as well as drive team utilisation in adherence with IPC Cost and Time Utilisation Targets.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
You will be able to create a robust, contract compliant resourced project baseline programme with the experience of managing projects and their stakeholders on major high-profile projects across the energy, defence, rail, airports, highways, water and utilities sectors.
You will be commercially aware and able to make sound decisions in order to maximise fee earning and utilisation.
Applicants will ideally be degree educated, with previous industry & sector experience being essential.
Previous experience of the following tools (or one of) is also required: Oracle Primavera, MS Project, Asta Power Project, PowerBI, Excel, Acumen Fuse.
Applicants will also require excellent written and verbal communication skills, be rigorous in following documented processes and governance and be able to demonstrate the ability to innovate in creative ways to meet the challenges of a changing project environment.
You will be able to demonstrate the ability to own large processes with minimal oversight and will be accountable for leading the team to achieve results in line with business objectives.
