Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an entry level Electrical Engineer in the Greenwood Village, CO responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning and design phase for projects of limited complexity under the direct supervision of a Supervising Electrical Engineer or Design Supervisor.This position requires the use of 3D modeling software to create drawings for electrical systems in government facilities.The Design Engineer interacts with other disciplines, project support groups, vendors and client representatives as appropriate on assigned projects and is responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a 4 year ABET accredited college or university

  • Less than 1 year of post-graduation professional electrical engineering experience

  • Must have completed coursework in Power Systems Analysis, Power Distribution System Apparatus, Energy and Electric Power or related power courses

  • Working knowledge of 2D CAD Software

  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen. No dual citizens.

  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT Certification (please indicate in profile)

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (please indicate in profile)

  • Previous internships with an engineering firm in the power, government or oil & gas industry

  • AutoCAD, Microstation, SmartPlant, BIM 2D/3D experience

  • Experience in SKM, ETAP or other Power System Analysis software
