Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Survey Technician/Instrument Operator for our Hunt Valley, MD Transportation team to work on a 4/10's schedule.
In this role your job responsibilities will include (not limited to):
Reports directly to the Party Chief on survey crew
Work a flexible schedule (4/10's)
Will work with robotic total stations, GPS equipment and Leica scanners
Maintain survey crew equipment and inventory
Will work on ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
Will work on topographic, metes and bounds surveys and control networks
Will interact with Party Chief, Chief of Surveys and survey team members
Maintain standards and specifications of project requirements
Travel to project sites out of town work as needed, working out of town for 4 consecutive days - 30% to 50% travel. Home on the weekends, but may leave out Sunday evening depending on the location of the job
Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities
Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway
Relies on moderately complex knowledge of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish goals
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Requirements:
Experience working with Department of Transportation (DOT)
Experience and/or willingness to perform SHA and other public sector work
Must have "team" attitude and communicate effectively
Understand standards and specifications of project requirements
Willing and able to travel to perform out of town work as needed (from 30% - 50%) up to 4 days at a time out of town.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $23.00/hour - $32.00/hour.
