Position Title Wireman Journeyman (Construction)

Purpose and Scope:
The purpose of this position is to perform the full range of Wireman (journeyman) level duties.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and equipment for the generation and distribution of electrical energy such as: generators, automatic and manual transfer panels, switchboards, circuit breakers, motor control centers, pumps & motors, control systems, variable speed drives and soft starts, conduit systems, power andlighting systems, lightning protection and grounding systems, airfield lighting systems, motor-generator frequency convertor sets, and uninterruptible power systems.
Must have experience with HVAC systems to include: heat pumps, split systems, chilled water systems, boilers, and controls systems.
Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications. Perform electrical computations.
Use a variety of hand tools and measuring, testing, and recording equipment.
Must be able to repair a multitude of commercial food preparation equipment.
Must have experience with Quarry, Concrete, & Asphalt batch plant control systems.
Use Goldak and Metrotech underground utility locating equipment.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Five years of experience as a Wireman or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program is required. Possess Journeyman status. Requires experience in assembly of electronic-type equipment with the ability to perform certified soldering, wire wrapping, cabling and knowledge of wire lists, parts lists and assembly and fabrication drawings. Must have computer skills to include MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. Must be able to research, specify, and order materials. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must maintain a valid state driver license. MUST be able to meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance (TSSSBI) and access to the work location.

OSHA-10 card, Construction Industry
Rigging I Signaling
Boom, Fork, and Scissor Lift training certifications
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Must be able to work in remote locations with limited medical personnel and facilities. Work is performed outdoors in the field exposed to adverse weather conditions and occasionally indoors in shop/office environment. Must be able to climb and work off of ladders, elevated platforms, and wear fall arrest gear. Must have normal color vision, freedom from fear of heights and confined spaces. May be required to wear a respirator. Must stay proficient in CPR. Must comply with all Safety practices and Environmental regulations.
