Are you ready to lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of rail infrastructure?
We are searching for a Rail Civils Associate Director to join us here at AECOM, based in our Leeds office. As a region, we have an established record for successfully delivering Rail Projects, most notably the recent Northumberland line, which is the biggest third-line rail project in the UK, creating a new line and six new stations aiming to deliver economic benefits between £360m and £470m! This will help aid congestion and improve the quality by shifting journeys from road to rail.
Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. The team provides technical leadership of projects throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility, preliminary and detailed stage designs.
Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include the major custodians of the UK’s rail network, numerous local authorities, and major Contractors.

Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. The team provides technical leadership of project throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility, preliminary and detailed design stages. Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include custodians of the UK’s Rail network, numerous local authorities, and major contractors.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Deliver: The projects we deliver range from stations to train maintenance and servicing depots and power supply upgrades. We also provide support to other parts of AECOM’s business on major multi-disciplinary projects.
Support: leadership and future succession plans of rail Civils team in Eastern Region.
Provide Expertise: Offer technical knowledge and expertise to the design team on all aspects of multi-disciplinary projects, from conceptual phases to implementation.
Ensure Quality : Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects, you will hold our clients’ hands and overcome problems in unison when they inevitably arise.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer CEng/ Ieng or working towards this status.
Recognised engineering qualification or preferably a degree in engineering
Knowledge of Civils Design experience in technical engineering leadership which impact on discipline design principles and demonstrate experience of the successful management of interfaces within projects.
