Job Description
AECOM's Transit & Rail Major Projects & Programs Group is seeking a creative, highly talented and experienced mid-level Transportation/Transit Planner IV for immediate employment in AECOM's Los Angeles, CA Office .
JOB SUMMARY:
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in transportation planning, with specialization in multimodal, transit and rail corridor planning. The best candidates will have experience with CEQA and NEPA environmental clearance of transit corridor projects. The best candidates will have an interdisciplinary background and be knowledgeable and versatile in transportation planning, transportation engineering, environmental planning, and urban planning/land use planning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform a variety of transit planning studies, such as feasibility studies and alternatives analyses
Conduct research and prepare reports on land use, physical, social and economic issues.
Provide professional planning assistance to clients on varied land use and transportation projects.
Develop plans, studies, and analyses for transit projects.
Support in the environmental analysis for a range of environmental resources
Perform field inspections to gather data
Work with GIS and other planning software.
Write and present formal and technical reports, working papers and correspondence.
Assist with the preparation of proposals for company pursuits.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Planning or related field
8+ years of experience working on transportation projects
GIS Experience
Data Analysis, including visual graphics
Experience in Transportation Planning for urban transit systems
Proficient with excel spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software
Ability to work well in teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $160,000.00.
