Our Mackay team consists of 25+ professionals who are passionate about delivering safe, innovative and sustainable infrastructure for the local community and further abroad. Our team has been instrumental in the delivery of iconic local infrastructure projects such as the Mackay Ring Road, Eton Range Realignment and the Walkerston Bypass. We continue to deliver transformational and complex projects for our local clients in Resources, Local and State Govt.

The services we provide are diverse, with our advisory, planning, design and project management skills encompassing flood modelling (with the latest high-tech simulation and Machine Learning software), water and sewer infrastructure, transportation, mining, building services and social precincts. We also support the construction of transport and industrial projects with project management and contract administration services.

The Role

Our Resources + Industry team have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Mackay office. This role will be focused on enhancing our local electrical engineering capabilities, capacity and client base. You will utilize your strong communication and technical skills to up-skill the current team and work on a range of industrial and civil infrastructure projects.

How you’ll make a differenc:

  • Manage electrical components of projects across all phases of the project lifecycle including: feasibility studies, detailed design, procurement assistance, site construction and commissioning.

  • Collaborate with skilled engineers across a range of diverse projects within resources / industrial, transport, water and buildings.

  • Provide technical advice on local sustaining capital projects and studies whilst contributing to workshare projects with lager metropolitan offices on ‘city changing’ projects.

  • Mentor, develop and guide junior engineers whilst playing an active part in growing your team in size and capability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree with, ideally, 5+ years proven engineering / design experience within mining, local government or heavy industry sectors.

  • Exposure to the design and specification of industrial systems such as HV/LV distribution, controls and communications, safety systems and motor controls.

  • Knowledge in the use of popular design packages such as PowerCAD, PowerTools and AutoCAD.

  • Proficient in producing engineering documentation such as technical specifications, datasheets, reports and scope of works.

  • Possess current knowledge of relevant industry standards and the application of compliant designs

  • Have (or working towards) CPEng and/or RPEQ.
