Job Description

AECOM is hiring an experienced Traffic Incident Management Road Ranger Contract Manager, located in Miami, Florida, at the SunGuide Transportation Management Center (TMC). The SunGuide TMC is a 24/7 operation responsible for traffic and incident management for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six. District Six covers Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. The roadside safety service patrol is called the Road Rangers in Florida. This position oversees the Road Ranger program for FDOT District Six.

FDOT District Six has the largest fleet of Road Rangers in Florida. The fleet consists of tow trucks, pickup trucks, and flatbed wreckers. The Road Rangers perform basic roadside assistance and help get disabled vehicles off the travel lanes as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides contract administration of the Road Ranger contract for FDOT District Six.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact between FDOT and the Road Ranger vendor.

  • Conducts scheduled and random field inspections of service patrol vehicles.

  • Prepare meeting materials and participate in project meetings.

  • Personnel Management; approve, deny, or remove Contractor personnel under contract.

  • Generates performance and analysis reports.

  • Reviews vendor invoices and recommends payment.

  • Works closely with incident management and operations staff at the TMC.

  • Resolution of customer complaints.

  • Conducts monthly Road Ranger vendor performance evaluations.

  • Manages the current year’s Road Ranger budgets.

  • Provides budget forecasts for FDOT planning purposes.

  • Works under direct supervision on routine tasks as per established procedures.

  • Works with other team members and/or end-users to troubleshoot basic problems.

  • Effectively contributes to team goals.

Additional Information:

  • When in the field, the position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment, including safety shoes/boots, a hard hat, a high visibility vest, and an operator uniform.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS and 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • A valid US Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a US Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • Experience and knowledge of Freeway Incident Management.

  • Must be able to pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check and the State Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) background check

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Experienced in data entry skills required

  • Available for on-call duties for the 24-hour TMC

  • Experience in the use of computer applications.

  • Experience writing reports.

  • Experience with two-way communication radio systems.

  • Experience and knowledge of the freeway system within Miami-Dade County.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a team environment.

  • Experience with multitasking.

  • Experience in verbal, written, and presentation communication.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite such as MS Word, Excel, and Power

  • Experience with Basic Maintenance of Traffic (MOT).

  • Experience and training in Incident Command System (ICS) or National Incident Management System (NIMS).

  • Experience with Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.

  • Experience with Dynamic Message Signs (DMS).

  • Experience in incident clearance procedures.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00.
