Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Commissioning Manager - Airport Terminal to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga.
We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
Partners with contractors to develop and implement the commissioning strategy and plan, ensuring successful commissioning of all assets delivered through the program.
Supports the design process by participating in key design reviews and providing input to ensure alignment with commissioning objectives.
Reviews and validates contractor testing and commissioning plans, and oversees the execution of commissioning activities across all program phases.
Offers technical guidance and subject matter expertise to internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinates commissioning efforts by collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient execution.
Performs site observations and prepares detailed field reports, assessing project progress and compliance with design plans and specifications.
Continuously evaluates and improves workflows and processes to drive efficiency and enhance overall team performance.
Prepares and delivers management and executive-level reports on commissioning performance, highlighting key risks, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
- University Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering field+ 8 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in large-scale infrastructure programs in a commissioning capacity, including at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
Aviation sector experience is highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in commissioning mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general engineering systems in both industrial and commercial environments.
Proven track record of successfully commissioning major capital assets within live, operational, and highly regulated settings—aviation environments preferred.
Strong project management background, with solid expertise in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
Comprehensive understanding of the design, construction, and maintenance of building systems, mechanical infrastructure, industrial facilities, and utility networks.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead meetings and facilitate workshops involving diverse groups of stakeholders.
Advanced technical proficiency across all phases of project delivery and a demonstrated ability to solve complex issues, including the application of data analytics to inform decision-making.
Significant experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders and delivering strategic-level reporting to support high-impact decisions.
Additional Information
This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $123,000.00 - $205,000.00.
