Job Description

AECOM is seeking a full-time Contract Administrator to work at one of our municipal infrastructure construction project sites (sewer and road rehabilitation/reconstruction).

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Project Manager, Design Team, Client and Construction Contractor in expediting solutions to technical field problems

  • Review construction submittals

  • Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements

  • Coordinate inspections, provide regular updates to project team and the Client, review and prepare contractor payment applications, and respond to RFI’s.

  • Issue RFQs, Change Orders, Change Directives, Site Instructions

  • Participate in the negotiation of change orders specific to design changes

  • Participate in the resolution of delay and other claims by the contractor

  • Participate in and document all construction meetings onsite (progress meeting, commissioning meeting, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field + 4 years of experience in a field role on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects

  • Contract administration experience

  • Registered C.E.T. with OACETT or eligible within 12 months.

  • Site locations are not accessible by transit, need access to own transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a field role on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects and experience providing contract administration and/or site inspection

  • Understanding of construction project sequencing (e.g., mobilization, shop drawing reviews, construction, start-up and commissioning, project closeout, etc.)

  • Able to read and interpret engineering construction drawings and specifications

  • Ability to work in teams, respond to changing demands, be decisive under pressure, and can remain calm when interfacing with internal and external personnel

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Supervised construction related to horizontal infrastructure (i.e., sewer and roads, bridges, storm water ponds)

  • First Aid certification an asset

  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and regulations

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $120,000.00.
