Project Controls Change Manager Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Project Controls Change Manager to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Functional Responsibilities

  • In-office 5 days a week.

  • Develop, Lead and Manage all Change Management including tracking system to insure that Project and stakeholders are fully aware of detailed change order status.

  • Supervises the Project team in effort to maintain Change management, including schedules, cost controls, forecasting and in all level reporting.

  • Conduct annual Performance Management process for all project controls team members assigned to the project.

  • Conduct review sessions on project status with project management and/or client and highlight adverse schedule and cost variances for corrective actions

  • Review outstanding tasks with project members and update priority list and/or projects and/or clients with any changes.

  • Coach, monitor, assist, and assign tasks to project controls team as well as provide support to Project Controls Leads throughout the project.

  • Lead in the development of all reports set forth in the client business requirements as well as indicated in the corporate and project reporting procedures

  • Review, approve and submit Trend logs to the Client

  • Review detailed forecasting of all indirect and equipment costs.

  • Review forecast hours at completion by discipline.

  • Review weekly coordination of data. (Cost/Schedule/Trends/Progress)

  • Ensure that all Project Controls activities are in accordance with set Project Procedures and Job Instructions. Includes preparation of schedules, cost reports, cash flow and variance analysis

  • Develop and maintain project controls plan and procedures outlining methodologies and responsibilities while ensuring alignment with functional process and procedures.

  • Review and provide feedback on miscellaneous project reports.

  • Provide construction with forward looking mitigation plans and data

  • Verify integrity of Earned Value Management System.

  • Prepare and/or review contract change notices.

Communications

  • Coordinate with and respond to queries from internal and external clients

  • Attend team meetings to provide assistance in resolving issues, review progress reports and ensure assignment of new tasks.

  • Analyze and provide input to technical and performance criteria on Project Controls systems to the Project Controls Functional leadership.

Working in Teams

  • Provide recommendations and guidance to other Functional groups with regards to processes, monitoring and system requirements.

  • Provide input for various Business Line reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (Power BI, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Primavera P6

  • Cost Engineering Software (e.g. Prism, Ecosys, ePM)

  • Acumen Fuse / Risk

  • Monte Carlo Simulation (e.g. @Risk, Crystal ball)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Indirect reports: 2 - 5 project/employee resources

  • Skilled in the development of commercial strategies. Capable of participating in negotiations.

  • Requires a demonstrated ability to effectively lead the project controls change management function on a large/complex project.

  • Leadership

  • Documents employee performance issues and is instrumental in resolution. Organizational Management

  • Conducts root cause analysis.

  • Drafts comprehensive project procedures.

  • Possesses proven knowledge of scope control and change management.

  • Oversees the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules. Expert understanding of schedule resource loading and leveling.

  • Assists the Project Manager in budgeting and managing incentive programs.

  • Holds an expert understanding of schedule, critical path analysis, resource loading and leveling.

  • Establishes and maintains client relationships.

  • Has the ability to review and analyze project program and oversee the production of accurate progress/performance reports.

  • Able to review and assess (as required) raw data that comes from project automated systems.

  • Serves as a key participant in client and/or subcontractor negotiations.

  • Participates in staffing decisions for projects.

  • Ensures that a tracking database is developed and maintained to cross check subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures.

  • Involved in tracking system to insure that Project Management team is fully aware of detailed change order status.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor degree in a related field and 8+ years of change management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

a) Formal Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree/Certification required

  • University education with applicable further development in Industrial Project Management would be preferred.

b) Professional Designation:

  • Professional designation preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE Certification preferred.

  • Degree in Engineering preferred.

c) Experience:

  • 10 years’ experience strongly preferred.

  • Design-Build and Progressive Delivery

  • Industrial construction, Transportation, Infrastructure experience preferred.

  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience will also be strongly preferred to be considered.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00.
