Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Water Specialist - Airport Project to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
Major Responsibilities:
Contributes to the planning and development of water resilience initiatives, including stormwater management, water conservation, and water quality improvement programs.
Ensures that project designs incorporate self-sustaining water ecosystems, necessary infrastructure, and methods for capturing water to support irrigation and manage stormwater effectively.
Collaborates with Stakeholder Relations and Communications (SR&C) teams and external partners to align on all aspects of the sustainability strategy.
Verifies that the program and design strategy comprehensively address sustainability requirements and align with the principles of sustainable development, while supporting occupant lifestyle and well-being.
Confirms that the project approach aligns with the organization's vision and strategic goals for a sustainable, carbon-positive, and environmentally responsible future.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- University Degree in Engineering, Planning, or Sustainability field + 4 years of relevant experience in the environment, energy, or sustainable design sector.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
Proven track record of achieving sustainability outcomes within the infrastructure sector; experience with large, complex programs is considered a valuable asset.
Demonstrated expertise in low impact development (LID) approaches for water and/or stormwater design.
Experience in the design and implementation of water conservation strategies and development measures.
Solid understanding of water quality protection measures integrated into both design and operational phases.
Strong technical proficiency across all project stages, with the ability to solve complex challenges—leveraging data analytics to inform and support solution development.
Additional Information
This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
