Job Description
The Vertical Transportation Engineer is responsible for the critical task of designing, developing, and meticulously reviewing drawings and submittals for vertical transportation projects, encompassing elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. This professional must demonstrate the ability to adapt and modify design features and operational methods to address a diverse range of complex situations. The selected candidate will be expected to perform the following essential functions:
Execute comprehensive vertical transport design for major projects, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
Collaborate closely with principal designers to develop sophisticated Vertical Transport Design solutions.
Oversee the production of high-quality drawings and reports, and meticulously prepare vertical transportation project specifications.
Effectively supervise and coordinate the work of team members, while seamlessly integrating efforts with engineers from other disciplines.
Participate in critical meetings and engage in professional communication with clients to accurately ascertain their requirements.
Conduct thorough inspections of installations and rigorously witness testing procedures on-site.
Efficiently manage project teams to ensure the timely production of deliverables within prescribed budgets.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS plus six years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with an elevator contracting or consulting background.
A strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
A desire to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.
Experience in utilizing design software including passenger traffic analysis software (ELEVATE) CADD, BIM, Revit, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $135,000.00.
