Job Description:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented experienced technical electrical site QC inspector to join our team in water/wastewater treatment. This role is critical in supporting our clients needs relating to large infrastructure construction projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in construction, client/GC/vendor relationship management, and coordinating closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform inspections for electrical installations, upgrades, maintenance, diagnose and repairs
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inspections, repairs, installation and equipment inventory
Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
Spends time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to design.
Collaborate with contractors, project managers and site electricians.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their electrical needs, address concerns, and provide quality service and solutions.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
Interfaces with design team and work closely with BIM modelling software.
Assists with reviewing and responding to Contract documents including field memos, RFIs, and change orders.
Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract
Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
Attend construction meetings and report on project construction tasks to the EIC team as needed.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
8+ years of experience in quality assurance in construction
5+ years of experience as a Red Seal Electrician
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BCTQ Electrical Red Seal certification or equivalent Canadian journeyperson certification with Interprovincial Red Seal and FSR certificate
Experience and familiarity with safe working practices in regard to operation and maintenance of medium and low voltage industrial distribution equipment.
Familiarity with motor control and industrial driven equipment (600V MCC and VFD’s).
Industrial controls experience preferred (e.g. Allen Bradley PLC, ABB DCS, VFD Drives, HMI, basic industrial networking).
Thorough knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and other local (BC) regulations and acts.
Considerable knowledge of methods, practices, materials, tools and equipment used in industrial environment electrical installation, construction, operation and maintenance projects.
The ability to check and interpret plans and specifications; recognize technical requirements and suggest required changes; exercise sound judgement; establish and maintain effective working relationships and act in the absence of the senior electrical inspector.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, contractors, engineers and electricians.
Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
Good working knowledge of safety working practices and regulations.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00.
