Job Summary

This is a contingency posting depending upon successful award of the Department of State Global Security Engineering &Supply Chain contract.

Installs and repairs lock systems and peripheral equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment and following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematic diagrams, and blueprints. Provides technical lock support on GSA-approved combination locks, containers and vault doors.

Purpose and Scope:

Performs technical lock support, performing minor repairs, re-keying and conduct technical assistance on GSA-approved combination locks, containers and vault doors.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Reading and interpreting electrical, electronic, and electromechanical schematics and maintenance manuals

  2. Reading and interpreting building plans (blueprints)

  3. Test, troubleshoot, and provide technical assistance on mechanical and electromechanical locking systems – electronic strikes, locks

  4. Perform minor repairs, re-keying and conduct technical assistance on GSA-approved combination locks, containers and vault doors.

  5. Inspect new containers, set shipping combinations, and coordinate shipment and installation

  6. Research parts availability and costs

  7. Research, evaluate, and present recommendations for new locking hardware

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or possess a diploma from a technical or vocational school or have acquired equivalent military training.

  • The individual shall have at least three (3) current years of experience in lock support.

  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Secret-level Security Clearance with upgrade capability to Top Secret.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OEM certifications in lock systems
