Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Planning Senior Manager to lead the Phoenix, AZ. planning team and work collaboratively with the Arizona and US West Planning leadership team.

This candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful career path in transportation planning to serve as a Project Manager working with clients, diverse projects, and project teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to be highly organized, work well independently and collaboratively with the team, and the ability to communicate clearly.

The selected candidate will support the growth and success of the transit and rail planning team at AECOM. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to bring together diverse teams across geographic boundaries.

This candidate will be a highly experienced manager with full oversight, authority, and accountability for larger, more visible, complex projects and teams. The candidate will play a key role in understanding the strategic development of client relationships and positioning for transit and rail opportunities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with strong, dynamic teams

  • Experienced in the management of diverse project teams

  • Possesses technical excellence in transportation planning

  • Identifies and supports business development leads

  • Work to meet financial and project management goals as defined by the organization annually

  • Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects

  • Consistently delivers profit margins planned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in planning, civil engineering or related discipline

  • AICP or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona

  • 10+ years of previous experience, including project management on transportation projects

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and teams, including subconsultants

  • Ability to promote and initiate transportation solutions for a broad application of client needs

  • Experience with Business Development/Client Relations

  • Experience with Client proposals and interviews

  • Proven experience of success with pursuits

  • Experience with managing people at various experience levels and ability to mentor with their career development

  • Good communication skills and ability to manage a team

  • Offered rate of compensation (Phoenix, AZ.) area only will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $170,000.00.
