Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Blast Engineer specializing in Structural Engineering to join our team in Singapore. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing structures to withstand blast effects, ensuring the safety and integrity of buildings and infrastructure.
Develop blast-resistant designs for various structures, including buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities
Conduct detailed structural analyses using finite element analysis software to assess blast effects on structures
Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential blast scenarios
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate blast-resistant designs into overall project plans
Ensure compliance with international building codes and standards related to blast protection
Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings
Provide expert consultation on blast-resistant design to clients and project stakeholders
Stay updated on the latest advancements in blast engineering and protective design techniques
Manage and mentor junior engineers in blast-resistant design principles and methodologies
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred
Certification in blast-resistant design (e.g., ASCE Blast Protection of Buildings) highly desirable but not a must
Minimum 1 year of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on blast-resistant design projects
Extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles and blast-resistant design techniques
Proficiency in finite element analysis software, AutoCAD or similar CAD software, and structural analysis tools
Strong understanding of international building codes and standards related to blast protection
Expertise in blast effects on structures, protective design, and risk assessment methodologies
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
Strong project management abilities and experience leading multidisciplinary teams
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical report writing and client interactions
Ability to work efficiently and organize multiple projects simultaneously
Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site assessments and client meetings
