Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Camp Civil Engineer Support Manager/Mentor for an anticipated position supporting a logistical effort in the country of Africa. The Camp CE Engineering/Facilities Support Manager/Mentor is responsible for maintenance, preventative maintenance, the mentoring and development of six selected Danab maintenance personnel to manage and sustain the all base camp infrastructure/ civil engineer (CE) infrastructure, activities and requirements of the 600-man camp. The appropriately qualified candidate should be able to perform the following job duties:

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall perform preventive maintenance and required calibration on Danab 600 man camp assets and core capability items including maintenance of facilities/shelters and facility-component systems such as the reverse osmosis water purification unit (ROWPU), water distribution system, power distribution system and sanitation system. The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall provide instruction and guidance to six selected Danab personnel in order to develop their capability to conduct required repairs. Ensure preventative maintenance is conducted properly and on a routine scheduled basis as required to ensure all electrical, water distribution and, lights, doors, windows, fans, water purification systems remain operational in the 600-man camp.

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor is responsible for defining the maintenance requirements, developing, and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules, in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, environmental conditions, and any governing policy, for the 600 Danab man camp equipment or systems. The Camp CE and Facilities Manager/Mentor shall maintain an internal log of all maintenance performed.

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall mentor the selected Danab camp maintenance personnel to sustain established maintenance policies, and procedures to include maintaining preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, environmental conditions, and any governing policy, for the 600 Danab man camp equipment or systems.

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall provide supply chain management and supply operations management using management information software that is approved by the COR to manage and track all physical and ordered inventories.

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall provide the selected Danab camp maintenance personnel to enable them to become capable of applying supply chain management and supply operations management software to manage and track all physical and ordered inventories.

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall provide technical expertise, service, support and advice to the Camp Manager/Mentor on basecamp infrastructure/ civil engineering projects, as well as, operations and maintenance (O&M) of all camp facilities (including power generation, sanitation, water purification, dining facility operations, all motor pool operations) in order to sustain current basecamp infrastructure Additionally, the Camp CE and Facilities Manager/Mentor shall maintain fans, interior and exterior lighting, trash cans, fire extinguishers, and electrical outlets.1.1.1.The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall provide a minimum six Danab personnel as well as support Camp CE/Facilities Manager in creating a real property accounting and tracking system provide advice in CE areas relating to weapons and ammunition management, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and disaster preparedness (DP) programs, and any other function(s) relating to professional infrastructure/ civil engineer (CE) duties not mentioned above.

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor shall establish, manage and operate the 600 man Danab camp motor pools. Additionally, the Camp CE/ and Facilities Manager/Mentor shall mentor a minimum of 8 Danab personnel in order to enable them to become capable of managing and operating the 600 man camp motor pool as well as the Sectoral Danab Camps to include daily inspection / routine (preventive maintenance) / unscheduled maintenance of camp equipment and vehicles.

  • The Camp CE/ and Facilities Manager/Mentor shall develop and implement the Danab camp motor pool operations and maintenance, and fuel management plans, policies and procedures.

  • The Camp CE/Facilities Manager/Mentor will be prepared to assist in all operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of the basecamp as requested by Camp Manager.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Civilian and/or former Military with three to five years of engineering camp maintenance management experience; practical maintenance expertise; motor pool operations, and ammunition management experience is required.

  • Ideal Candidate shall have at least one to two years developing the capabilities to oversee, manage and direct planning of international military base infrastructure programs.

  • Additionally, ideal candidate will have a minimum of one to two years’ experience living and working in developing countries.
