Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Camp Deputy Food Service Manager for an anticipated position supporting a logistical effort in the country of Africa. The Deputy FS Manager/Mentor shall assist the Camp FS Manager/Mentor in providing assistance and mentoring to Danab personnel. Danab will identify and provide up to six personnel to be mentored, in order to develop the ability to manage the systems, infrastructure and logistics required to support the 600-man camp dining facility and Danab troops deployed to the field form the 600 man camp. The appropriately qualified candidate should be able to perform the following job duties:

  • The Deputy Camp FS Manager/Mentor will assist the Camp FS Manager/Mentor with mentoring of the Danab personnel so that they are capable of developing policies, plans, inventory management, maintenance and warehousing to support the day-today operations of the camp dining facility.

  • The Deputy Camp FS Manager/Mentor will assist the Camp FS Manager/Mentor with the coordination between Danab and SNA senior logistics representatives and other U.S. government-funded programs and personnel as it pertains to the Danab dining facility operations and Danab operations.

  • The Deputy Camp FS Manager/Mentor shall assist and support the Camp FS Manager/Mentor in working closely with the program managers of all USG-funded Danab assistance programs in Somalia to include DoD as applicable, as well as international partners to coordinate all food service efforts.

  • The Deputy Camp FS Manager/Mentor is responsible for supporting the Camp FS/Mentor and the Camp Manager in managing, transporting, and inventorying food to support the 600-man camp.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and be capable and willing to submit and pass random fitness for duty screening particularly for drugs and alcohol.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Former Senior Noncommissioned Officer with food service experience in the grade E-6 to E-7.

  • Additionally, suitable candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of food service management, logistic support and management experience, to include overall inventory control, accountability, warehousing, supplies, services and material.

  • Experience working in an austere OCONUS environment, preferably in Africa.

  • Must possess an understanding of the need to conduct oneself in a diplomatic and culturally sensitive manner.

  • Must be capable of moderate physical exertion to include the ability to lift and carry items up to fifty - (50) pounds, be able to conduct travel and work within an equatorial environment with a Limited support infrastructure.

  • Must be proficient with personal computers and capable of using Microsoft office products such as word, power point, and excel.
