Job Description

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering complex electrical engineering projects across various sectors, including transportation, infrastructure, ports and maritime. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of key projects, such as traction linewide systems, resignaling programs, SAT/TAP initiative and electrical infrastructure upgrades. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation and integration of electrical systems that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Project Leadership: Lead the electrical engineering aspects of major projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, time and budget. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.

  • Technical Expertise: Develop and review complex electrical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client requirements and safety regulations. Provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the ANZ region.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering outputs meet quality and safety standards. Conduct regular reviews and assessments to maintain the integrity of project deliverables.

  • Global Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from our global offices to share knowledge, leverage expertise and implement best practices across projects. Contribute to the diversification of project experience and personal professional development.

  • Innovation and Sustainability: Drive innovation in electrical engineering practices, with a focus on sustainable solutions that enhance the resilience and efficiency of infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects.

  • Proven track record in leading large-scale projects, particularly in transportation, rail, or urban development sectors.

  • Extensive knowledge of low voltage, high voltage, power systems modelling, traction power, earthing and bonding.

  • Strong understanding of Australian standards and regulations related to electrical engineering.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work across the ANZ region and collaborate with international teams.
