Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Field Technician for full-time field-based activities to be based out of the Markham, Ontario office with travel to sites in York Region and Toronto. The work will involve a 40 hr work week with optional paid overtime and includes working as a crew of 2 planning daily maintenance activities from scheduled service work orders and proceeding to install and maintain flow monitoring equipment as required. AECOM will provide all required training including:

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Traffic Control

  • Working at Heights

  • First Aid / CPR

  • Defensive driving

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out tasks.

  • Assist with fieldwork (e.g., flow meter installation and maintenance, rain gauge calibrations).

  • Provide flow data quality assurance/analysis/reporting.

  • Work with industry-standard computer software such as MS Office and ArcGIS.

  • Provide GIS support in the preparation of maps, drawings, and schematics.

  • Maintain a general understanding of procedures, and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High-school diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A college diploma is preferred but not mandatory.

  • An understanding of wastewater collection systems and flow monitoring is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness/ability to work with their hands.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $52,000.00 - $61,000.00.
