Job Description

AECOM Markham is hiring a Structural Package Lead to support the Ontario Line North project, with a focus on the design and delivery of transit stations. This is an opportunity to contribute to a transformative infrastructure project alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical resource and advisor within the structural team

  • Provide specialized technical input for station and infrastructure design

  • Serve as Engineer of Records for the same station and infrastructure design

  • Develop design methodologies and procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes

  • Lead team reviews of project deliverables and participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables

  • Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications

  • Develop construction cost estimates and assess technical effort for structural scope

  • Conduct quality control reviews of design work and deliverables

  • Prepare structural sections of technical specifications

  • Support the development of engineering budgets and schedules

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in structural engineering

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in structural design for transit or public infrastructure projects

  • Experience working on transit station support of excavation and structures, preferably for TTC, Metrolinx or other major transit clients

  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, RISA, or similar)

  • Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code, CSA standards, and transit-specific structural design requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills

  • Experience with design-build or alternative project delivery models is an asset

Additional Information

Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,000.00 - $140,000.00.
