Job Summary

AECOM NAS Oceana is now hiring an Aircraft Repair Mechanic in the role as Line Supervisor for support of U.S. Navy aircraft maintenance operations at Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA.

This opening will hold the position and will include all duties and responsibilities as a General Aircraft Mechanic with WC 310 Supervisor background in the FA-18 and maintain currency as a dual qualified (A-F) Plane Captain. Must be familiar with WC 310 daily shop operations and become familiar with Company Operations to include Monthly Reports, QA Reports and Tally Reports. The candidate must be able to comply with the Navy’s daily scheduled and unscheduled operations. The candidate must be able to prioritize the needs of the customer in a clear and professional manner. Candidates must be able to react quickly and precisely to the hectic day to day operations of a Navy Line work center. Must be flexible on shift rotation and scheduling.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 years actual organizational level aircraft flight line/aircraft carrier flight deck operational experience is Required.

  • Must be F-18A-F Plane Captain Qualified and have been in Line Work Center for minimum of 1 year.

  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of W/C 310 daily shop operation requirements, maintenance meeting and NALCOMIS/OOMA procedures.

  • Candidates must have a comprehensive understanding and use of maintenance manuals IETMS related to aircraft servicing and COMNAVAIRFORCES 4790.2 Series and CSEC monitoring procedures.

  • Ability to apply common senses, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, electronic, oral or diagram form.

  • Candidates must become WC 310 Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) qualified within 30 days of the promotion date.

  • Work is performed on flight line, in hanger and flight deck with exposure to loud noise, weather variations and exhaust fumes.

  • Must be a self-motivator and work with little to no direct supervision.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

  • Candidates routinely deploy in support of Squadron Operations. These deployments include ship board operations. There is a great deal of standing, bending and stooping.

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
