Job Description

Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Nuclear Team in Warrington, we are looking to increase our technical workforce and are seeking to recruit a Senior Analyst Engineer.

A Senior Analyst Engineer is required to work on complex analytical projects and deliver tangible benefits to our clients. Our structural engineering solutions enable clients to undertake ambitious projects in the UK.

The right candidate will need to demonstrate a desire to be challenged as well as being able to contribute to the range of skills that we are able to draw on to deliver the technical aspects of projects. This opportunity would suit an individual who has experience in undertaking technical tasks, but is now looking to take on the challenge of leading and delivering complex projects on behalf of key clients.

Applicants for this position must have the right to work in the UK without restriction.

This is an exciting time for the Nuclear Power Team in Warrington, with an interesting and expanding pipeline of both international and UK based projects.

The successful candidate will be experienced:

  • The advanced use of numerical analysis methods using commercially available software packages (e.g. ANSYS (Mandatory requirement), LUSAS, ABAQUS, COMSOL, STAAD), or

  • Detailed knowledge of construction materials science (e.g. specialist knowledge of concrete performance and design or the design of steel structures, corrosion protection and welding)

  • Able to interpret the results of numerical analysis into practical engineering solutions, including

  • Able to decide on the appropriate level of reliance and accuracy to attach to a variety of results obtained from FE analysis

  • An excellent communicator, able to communicate in the English language, both written and verbal with both clients and colleagues

  • Capable of expressing complex analysis methods and concepts in a manner which technical non-specialists can understand

  • Keen to share experiences gained to date in their career with more junior members of the team and learn new analytical skills

  • Be able to determine appropriate methods to address structural engineering problems, and address these problems including those that do not require a finite element solution

  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be:

  • Able to express complex analysis methods and concepts in a manner which a non-specialist can understand

  • Familiar with at least one non-linear, time and frequency domain method of analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Candidates will hold a degree and masters in an appropriate Civil/Structural Engineering discipline, ideally with either a higher degree or depth of study into advanced numerical methods, construction materials or related topics.

  • The candidate will be working towards being a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers.

  • Able to meet the requirements for security clearance in the UK.
