AECOM is actively recruiting for a mid/senior Engineer for work in the areas of technical deliverables documentation tracking and management for a Navy Submarine Program. This position provides contractor technical support services for the VIRGINIA (SSN 774) Class Submarine Program Management Office (PMS450) in support of the Technical Division (PMS450T). Position is located on-site in the PMS450T spaces at the Washington Navy Yard and is considered a high visibility job as there are constant customer interface requirements.
General duties include assisting government and assigned contractor support personnel in the Program Office management and oversight of contract Commitment deliverables for VIRGINIA Class Submarines.
Specific duties include acting as the assistant Contract Commitments Database Administrator with demonstrated skills in database administration, queries, tracking and monitoring of key Programmatic contract deliverables, organizational dynamics, and general Project Management skills. Act as a backup to the senior Contract Commitments Database Administrator. Additionally, interface with all stakeholders in the PMS450 Commitment response process, including all PMS450 Divisions, NAVSEA codes, Ship Design and Ship Construction Yards (Electric Boat Corporation and Huntington Ingalls Industries), Supervisor of Shipbuilding, and various Navy Field Activities. Maintain custody and incorporate updates of the Commitments database within PMS450, receive and route newly arriving Commitments, track Commitment progress, generate standard and ad hoc Commitment database reports. Generate and update performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the PMS450 Commitments process. Instruct staff members in the PMS450 Commitments process and the use of the Commitments database reports. Support the Certification process for New Construction and Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) ships. Generate other reports and documentation as directed.
Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of job-related experience or equivalent. Two years of job-related experience may be substituted for each year of college. An active Government Security Clearance, i.e., an in-scope Background Investigation with Access having been granted within the previous two years, at the SECRET level.
Experience in Microsoft applications Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Access to support the operation of the Contract Commitments Database. Knowledge of the Navy ship acquisition process is desired. Military Service and Submarine experience is a plus.
