Job Summary

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for the day to day maintenance and operation of Windows Servers in support of a classified and unclassified DoD network. Supports the availability and consistency of the operations of the Windows 2012 or later Windows Domain environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Able to be a part of a geographically dispersed team responsible for the management of a classified and unclassified DoD network.

Maintain, Install and configure servers, workstations, Ethernet network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems

Supports the installation, maintenance and monitoring of an Unclassified and Classified Wide Area Network (WAN) and provide network administration support for VMWare Virtualized Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers and Workstations

Maintain a Microsoft Windows based network infrastructure including, Microsoft Active Directory with IAS / RADIUS, DNS, Access Control Lists

Supports Network and System Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation, Backups and Disaster Recovery

Maintain up-to-date equipment and software inventories, and up-to-date network drawings

Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct system malfunctions, operational difficulties, and remediate vulnerabilities

Assist in developing Network Operations Policies, Standards and Procedures

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Requires BS/BA technical degree (Information Technology, Computer Science, Information System Management, or related field) or at least 4 years of a combination of IT Training, IT Certifications and progressively relevant work experience in the areas of

Enterprise level Windows Server Administration

IT System Maintenance

Minimum Experience Requirements :

Three years’ technical experience in the following areas:

Implementing and maintaining Enterprise Level Microsoft Domain infrastructure

Experienced Windows Server Administration

Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, RADIUS, DNS, Access Control Lists.

Automated Patch Management solutions such as WSUS

Implementing and maintaining VMware server.

Linux Server Administration

Experience configuring systems to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security

Backups and Disaster Recovery systems

Database installation

Microsoft Office

Ability to speak, read, and write English

Minimum Position Specific Training Required:

Documented formal training in Implementing and maintaining an Enterprise Level Microsoft Domain infrastructure

Citizenship and Security Clearance Requirements

US Citizen

Must possess and maintain an active DoD security clearance with current SSBI

Certification Requirements

This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area "System Administration (45)" and as a condition of employment incumbents of the position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include:

Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and;

Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
